Fever 1793

Fever by Laurie Halse Anderson is an easy choice.  This novel is set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the Yellow Fever epidemic of 1793.  It is an example of historic fiction and includes the actual names and events that occured during this extrememly difficult time.  This novel quickly grabs the readers and doesn't let go until the very end.  Mattie, our main character, is a strong young lady who stays with us long after we've finished the novel.
